He is tougher than the others in Ponyboys cabal, he is 17 and already been in jail. Johnny Cade -The gangs pet. He is 16 years old, small, and comes from an abusive home. Dally is his hero. Steve Randle- Sodas best friend and fellow greaser. He is 17 and works at the gas station with Soda. Keith (Two-Bit) Mathews -The oldest of the gang, 18, except for Darry, and still a junior in high school. He is the smart alec of the gang. Sherri (Cherry) Valance- A cheerleader and the girlfriend of dock, the Soc who is killed. Cherry and Ponyboy meet at the drive-in and get down friends.
