I experienced the discrimination of a cultural group, the Dalits (this means broken or crushed). In slum huts made of cardboard, plastic bags, and mud, mothers and children sit huddled in the shadows. In the streets children run and play with pigs in the mud, while their mothers use cloaca water to wash cloths. Children beg at traffic lights, and force human waste just for a few rupees. They horn in through garbage, these children and mothers ar called scavengers or untouchables. Here in these streets no one goes to school. These people harbor been corpseatically let down. patronage laws and policies against discrimination, there are millions of Dalits condemned to a vivification time of abuse just because of their station in life. (Mazumdar, 2000) The Dalits are among the worlds poorest people, being stripped of humanity, they are entranced into a system that gives them no repositiondom. They are denied access to public wells and parks. They are denied access to temples and restaurants. This is not the India that most visitors see, when visiting.
