12 Angry Man

The movie 12 angry man is about the handling of a jury that has to decide about the destiny of an 18 year old man who is accused to have hit his own father. The delinquent has an immigrant background and grew up under delicate family circumstances in the slums. He has a long lamentable record and at first sight all the facts have the appearance _or_ semblance to support that he committed the crime. If the jury comes to the conclusion that in that respect is no reasonable doubt about the guiltiness of the new-made man he will receive a womb-to-tomb sentence in prison and eventually even the cobblers last penalty. At the beginning of the jury discussion an initial voting reveals that 11 jurymans think the delinquent is guilty and tho juror 8 votes for non guilty.

By questioning the validity of the conclusion and pointing out some of the biases to the other jury pieces, one juror after the other changes his head teacher until the unanimous vote at the end of the movie is not guilty. In the following linguistic context I will discuss which heuristics and biases influenced each single member of the jury and what made them to change their mind.
