Comment on the manner in which the poet conveys a intellectual of sadness in the above poem.

This poem which is written by Thomas Hardy is about his wife who has passed away. This passing away, has left him miserable and his pain and sadness is expressed through this poem. The raillery used in the poem creates powerful images in the admiters mind and also alters his emotions. It is difficult not to feel his sadness, and as we read through the poem we begin to feel sorry for him. The pass profligate of merchandise in the second stanza is the only sign of gratification which we see in the poem and to the poet, the only happy memory.

After a little while, from the poets delegate of view he starts to believe that the woman was changing axiom that now you are not as you were. But the third line wind guck thin through the thorn from nor ward adds to the gloominess. The word seep shows that it is coming really slowly and the word thorn gives an peculiarity of the poets pain as when pricked. But the pain we feel when pricked is physiologic pain. What the poet is talking about here in the third line is emotional pain.

Back to the first line thus I faltering forward, this line tells us about his emanation in life.
