Intamuros The oldest and a historic district in Manila. Nicknamed as the Walled metropolis. Intramuros is the historic fortified city of Manila, the seat of government during the Spanish Colonial Period. The oidor Antonio de Morga (Sucesos 1609) describes the de Guia as spacious with places for soldiers billet; however, later in the same book he contradicts himself by saying that Dasmariñas had the de Guia razed.
